To kill Ravana, Vishnu incarnated as Rama. Ravana captured and imprisoned Sita, the wife of Rama. Rama and his loyal commander Hanuman led an army composed of men and animals, intended to destroy Ravana and free Sita. This expedition is told in the Ramayana. Dans l'épopée de Ramayana le Reamker, Ravana est l'ennemi de Rama. Rama est Vishnu. Pour tuer le démon Rāvana, Vishnou s'incarna en Rāma. Rāvana captura et emprisonna Sita, la femme de Rāma. Rāma et son fidèle commandant en chef Hanuman conduisirent une armée composée d'hommes et d'animaux, destinée à détruire Râvana et libérer Sita. Cette expédition est racontée dans le Rāmāyana.
